Zhang Shaobing, joined shaungliang in August 1997, has been engaged in technology development and quality management for a long time and made important contributions to the development of new boiler products. He has won 15 scientific and technological progress awards at all levels, more than 10 patents, and won honorary titles such as the "Fourth Top Ten Scientific and Technological Worker of Jiangyin City" and the "Science and Technology Leader of Jiangyin". He has led the operation of the quality, environment, occupational health and safety system for a long time, presided over a number of qualification applications and renewal work, successfully completed the A-grade boiler, A2-grade pressure vessel manufacturing license qualifications, so to lay a good foundation for the company to upgrade manufacturing qualification and product development work.

In 2006, Zhang Shaobing was awarded the title of "Top Ten Employees of Shuangliang of Year 2005" at the Summary and Commendation Conference of the company.

Reporter: Can you talk about the situation when you first came to Shuangliang and what kind of work you did in company?

Zhang Shaobing:I came to Shuangliang from Xi'an in August 1997 and worked in a state-owned enterprise before. In the state-owned enterprise, I was restricted and hoped to be able to work in a company with flexible mechanism to feel free to do the work well. At that moment, Shuangliang Boiler began the recruitment over the country. I had heard about Shuangliang long ago, and knew that Shuangliang was an influential manufacturer of central air conditioning, so I did not hesitate to come here.

I started my career as a technician, participated in the design of Shuangliang's first boiler, and later participated in the design of a number of products and the development of new products. I served as a technical department director and chief engineer, being responsible for the technical work of boiler products. During this period, I made some achievements in the development of new products; Later, I turned to management post, and was responsible for system construction, quality management, qualification applications and renewals and other work, and accomplished the A-grade boiler andA2-grade pressure vessel manufacturing license qualification work. The acquisition of these two certificates had decisive function to help Shuangliang Boiler maintain good performance in the current energy shortage situation. Since 2006, I turned to sales post and was mainly responsible for pre-sale and after-sales work.

Zhang Shaobing:In a word, Shuangliang is very enterprising. There is a word in Shuangliang's scientific and technological policies: “Let failure pass and reward the success” and "Research funds are not restricted and have precedence over the production flow funds”. I had a deep understanding of them, as during the process of developing new products, we failed to make some prototypes, but this didn’t affect the company's continued investment in technical funds. The company's attitude toward the problems which had arisen in the commissioning and use of new products was always to solve the problems first but not to blame technical personnel. In addition, Shuangliang attaches importance to management. Our workshop management is absolutely first-class, which won great reputation in the industry. I have visited many boiler manufacturers and got the conclusion that the overall image of Shuangliang is the best. I am very proud of working in Shuangliang.

Reporter: Do you think that the management job or sales job must know the technology?

Zhang Shaobing :Knowing technology is a great help to management and sales job. If a manage personnel doesn't know the technology, he can only play the organizational role in solving problems, and the participation and tracking are limited. Because I am a technical origin, I can act as the technical support when doing sales work, so to work more efficiently and more freely. I believe that no matter what job you do, the technology is the foundation.

Reporter: You were well developed in Shuangliang, what is the main reason for this?

Zhang Shaobing:On the one hand, I think I am very fortunate. The leaders had trained me well. On the other hand, I think it is related to my personality. I am easy going and have certain communication skills, so I can change roles quickly.

Reporter: Have you encountered any difficulties? How do you overcome them?

Zhang Shaobing:I have been in Shuangliang for nearly ten years. I have encountered difficulties and troubles in both my life and work, but I can solve them in time. The IQ of everyone who comes to Shuangliang is basically enough, but for better life, certain EQ is required. You need to have the ability to communicate with others, so when you encounter difficulties, you will not be afraid and will not escape, what you will do is to find a solution. It can be said that EQ is more important than IQ.

Reporter: As a senior executive with technical background, what suggestions do you have for your technical colleagues in terms of career planning?

Zhang Shaobing:In Shuangliang, the technicians have two development channels, one is to change to management, and the other is to be always engaged in technology. It is necessary to plan according to individual personalities and wishes. No matter which way you go, you must first be dedicated, because there are many things in your work, you have to be devoted, willing pay the price and have enthusiasm, and if you are a leader, you must have passion.

Reporter: Every year, some college students come to Shuangliang to work. Please talk to them about how to make progress.

Zhang Shaobing:College graduates do not lack theoretical knowledge and have a certain ability to learn, but these do not mean that they have the ability to work. They can accumulate a lot of experience in daily work. They must learn to cooperate with colleagues in the work. In particular, they must be resilient, be good at starting from doing minor matters, and don't be impetuous, and when accumulating experience more in all aspects, they can definitely make achievements.
